Review from José de la Quintana by José de la Quintana
I was a guest of Casa Los Angelitos in February 2005. I read the story of Jonathan Baum and is very different of the reality. I remember him very dirty and always drunk; or when he stole food from other guests of the cabinets of the kitchen. We all laughed when he passing through the terrace, because he left a very strong and unpleasant odor. He was 3 or 4 months in the house always with the same clothes for the brotherhood of carpenters. He never washed it! And he never washed him! It was not possible to wash his clothes because it was tradition of the brotherhood of carpenters. He was dressed as a clown. He was very nice, but when he drank cause shame. He had problems with the owners of the house because they told him that this conduct could not be more at home (they did not want people drunk or drug addict). I remember that is true of the bathrooms had hair on drainage and discontinue service of the laundry in March, but did not increase the rate (that was another option).
He writes of Florian, Andrea, and many different persons. I have contact with them and they have others opinion about the owners and Jonathan.
I remember when Jonathan insulted the owner of the house, Rudolf; because he didn’t want to host him longer time (always had problems with Rudolf and the other guests). Jonathan was 2 or 3 months in the house before me and was very happy. I don’t understand why this comment on The Backpacker. Several friends of mine were last year in Casa Los Angelitos and they were really very happy. If Jonathan wasn’t happy, why he stayed at Casa Los Angelitos for 4 months in addition to a friend of him for a month? When I have a problem with a place or hotel, I change the accommodation, but I don’t stay for so many months!
My stay was a great experience with the house owners as well as the other guests. Great, centrical location in the middle of Buenos Aires. Highly recomendable for solo travellers.
IT WAS AMAZINGLY GOOD AND INCREDIBLY INEXPENSIVE!! THANK YOU!!!
This had a great location, wonderful staff that is willing to find an address for you or anything you might need. The beds have a special size for big people.
The telephone, internet and the air-conditioner in the room was perfect. It is great if you are looking for a quiet place in the centre of the city!
I love the garden, the asados in the terrace, Lucas and the owners. They’re very affectionate with the entire guest.
In my opinion, they must be more careful with some guests
When you are alone in Buenos Aires, I recommend you this house (This is not a Hostel, it's a Guesthouse say Rudy!) Muito obrigado!!!!!
The best place in Buenos Aires. Excellent service and very nice people on the staff. Good and clean. Thank you!!!
Things which are published in the internet and are not true:
-internet access is not for free!
-only two rooms are climatized, all others have only a fan
-the rooms are not clean at all. I made it to fill one dustbin of durt of my roomfloor.
-the bathrooms are cleaned not more than once in five days. Caused by drainproblems, the bathtub always contents a disgusting mixture of hairs and grease.
-the court is not clean, the dog is pissing there everyday , also next to the dining table, because the owner is going out with him only once a day
-the laundry service will be quit in march without compensasion and is not anymore included in the price
-not all rooms are equipped for one or two persons, two rooms are much to small for two persons
For people who like to read storys about things that shouldn’t happen in your life, here is my story of Casa los Angelitos:
First i arrived in a good atmosphere. “Rudy, Betty and Sergio Schuler”, the owners of the house, were polite and helpful.
The the problems began. “Amy” (a guest) had to go suddenly, because of a lack of communication, they hired her room to someone else and she had to move.
“Andrea” invited her friend “Miri”. Miri hired also a room, but finally she didn’t get it, because the owners doublebooked the room, so she had to share her room with Andrea.
“Florian” had to move out one day before he left by plane. His room was rented to someone else too early, so he had to stay up his last night, because there was no bed left for him.
Two germans “Doris and Michi” were charged for seven nights, but they stayed only six nights and left the sevens day before 10 o’clock. So they had a loud and bad discussion with “Rudolf” (the owner), until he accepted his fault.
I also had this discussions, because i was charged to high in all my three bills i got in two month. Rudolf doesn’t want to see his falts (i hope these were faults, even if i don’t believe it anymore). So he's at first always complaining about the corrections in an incredible unpolite way, even if he at least accepted all corrections of his faults!
Rudolf was at least angry about Andrea and me, because we left the house and moved to other flats. I told him this one week before i quit, but the house-rule (which nobody handled out to me) sais, that you have to prenotify the owners two weeks (!) before you want to leave.
So i was forced by Rudolf to stay longer that i wanted, and i staied to prevent me from more discussions.
It all ended really bad: I forgot things of mine in my room. So i came back the next day and Rudolf told me, that he had thrown away my things yesterday. He said: “The things, which are left by the visitors are trash for me.” Imagine this! I stood there, mouth opened, and couldnt’t believe it. So i insulted an old man the first time in my life and it feels bad, but i was totally out of order. Never happened something compareable to me, and i hope it will never happen again.
This is a very good house of guests in the center of Buenos Aires. They are very warm and pleasant. In addition he is very economic. He is really recommendable. Good bye
