Having read the reviews listed below we were very dubious about staying at The Clan B&B but decided to stay for 3 nights rather than 6. Some of what's written below is true, there is a nightclub below that runs until 5/6am but this is Buenos Aires - there's always a party going on! However, what is not written about is the amazing staff that work at The Clan. They couldn't do enough for us and were extremely friendly, compared to the other hostel we stayed at in BA they could organise a p*ss up in a brewery! Only downside is the noise from the nightclub if you’re not going out and the lack of AC. It has been in the mid-30s and it made it harder work than it needed to be, a lack of windows in the room made getting cool air into the room didn’t help either. Though, if you want 5* accommodation then go to a 5* hotel and pay their prices. You want friendly staff, safe, cheap hostel and a wicked atmosphere. Then stay at The Clan B&B.
With the exception of The Clan Hostel, the B&B is one of BA's finest places to stay. Granted there is noise from the adjacent night clubs but that is the case in BA. Upon check in, this is made very clear. The staff are exceptional and their warm attitude exemplifies this. Stay upstairs for a more serene stay but this place has a heart which is not found throughout BA. I would return after having stayed in 8 different places in BA,
As fotos do site não condizem com a realidade. Os móveis são horrorozos, o colchão e os travesseiros são sujos. O quarto fede a mofo.
This B&B looks very attractive in the photos, but when you get there it is clear that this place has left its glory days far behind. The room was okay, but rather small and dark. The bathroom smelt awful due to bad drainage, and showering was difficult due to the water coming up to my ankles and taking forever to drain away. The bathroom had a small high window that led out to where breakfast was served - which made me feel uncomfortable. The bathroom door didn't close. The towels are only changed every 3 days and with no ventilation in the place were difficult to dry. The room had no ventilation or natural light, and due to the stench from the bathroom was awful to come back to. Noise carries in this place - and there is a club literally next door that ran from 11pm till 7.30 am. It was so difficult to sleep and made the stay really stressful. The staff were friendly however, and admittedly this place is cheap. I would suggest that the hostel on the opposite side of the road will probably get you more peace and quiet! The excursion we went on to an international football game was so badly organised, but admittedly was actually ran by Millhouse Hostel - a huge waste of money, and they didn't deliver what the promised. Admittedly problems were also caused by the police and violent football hooligans causing trouble.
Did not sleep a wink due to a disco below my bed. Staff was arrogant and did NOTHING after our complaint and lied about it that they did not know about it. Overall very raunchy and run down. Grey sheets and rooms did not look like on the photos. Don't go!!
I went with my boyfriend and stayed in this B&B. The staff is very friendly but they aren't very organized. There is only ONE plug converter in the hotel, when they should have one per room. Meaning I needed to charge my camera but there weren't any avaliable, someone had the one converter of the hotel locked in their room (because the staff also didn't tell the guests they should return it). So I couldn't take pictures for 2 days. But the worst thing was we couldn't sleep. There's a disco underneath the hotel and one across the street. They were open on a sunday until 4am, and also thursday (apart from friday and saturday). It is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. Our bed and floor were vibrating to the sound of the bass downstairs. My boyfriend is a VERY heavy sleeper and even he couldn't sleep at all. The rooms all face the breakfast table and when people start waking up to take their breakfast everyone else wakes up to the sound of them talking during breakfast. It isn't so bad to wake up at 8 in the morning, but when u can't sleep up until 5 am everyday bacause of the discos, it's only 3 hours of sleep everyday. After 3 days you are a zombie. The one good thing of the hotel, apart from a friendly staff, is that it is locates in Downtown, close to the subway and to many bus stops. Even so I was greatly disapponted and we had to move to another hotel in order to sleep. There were several things we didn't do because we were so tired, so the hotel choice almost ruined the trip.
I would not recommend this place. The rooms are small and dirty and several of the rooms face a disco, they put us in the room knowing the disco is open until 7am. Needless to say, they should not have put anyone in this room. The staff is friendly, but not exactly helpful. This is definitely not someplace to stay with a significant other, as a solo backpacker it may be acceptable. I guess you get what you pay for.
Clan House should be called Clan Home: that´s the way they made me feel. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help you. Hilight: the brakfast, you won´t find in any hotel in buenos aires one as good. I thank everyone there for everything...will be back soon!!!
