had a terrible time at snuffel sleep due to the hot stuffy room, and the bar directly beneath our room playing really loud music till 3am so that we had to have the window shut to attempt to block it out. there was 2 toilets and only onw shower on out floor which genereally had a long queue outside and if after 8pm /before 8am then to reach the other showers you had to go out onto the street and through the bar. there was a total lack of lockers and the rooms had no lock on them so we had to take all valuables with us everytime we went out. also, there is no lift to each floor and anly a small spiral staircase, the steps of which tilt when you step on them to reach your floor with luggage. Sheets and breakfast will also cost you extra, so in conclusion look for other accomodation.
While I was there I wrote a list of complaints:
1.The music from the bar was so loud that the vibration from the beat could be felt in my room. (this went on till 3 am)
2. As our room looked out into the courtyard we could hear every word that was being said there. Very annoying especially as what people were saying wasn't very interesting.
3. The room was like a sauna. We had to keep the windows shut though, because we were trying to shut out some of the noise from the courtyard.
4. Only one light in the room worked. Therefore one side of the room was pitch dark.
5. The bed linen (which you had to pay for and this fact was not obviously advertised) did not even fit on the bed.
6. The walls were bright orange and i think blue. Very lurid. Yuck.
7. The beds were creaky, dirty and covered in chewing gum.
8. There were no locks on the doors and although there were lockers they were all full.
9. The stairs were a potential death trap. They were narrow and spiral (not fun carrying your luggage up them) and falling apart.
10. You couldn't sit up in the bottom bunks (and im short at 5'2)
11. To get to the main showers you had to go outside, through the bar. Not nice at all.
12. The toilet/shower next to the room was disgusting. The floor was wet the whole time and covered in mud. The toliet had no paper and was filthy. For the entire stay.
13. The en-suite room was en-suite to another room, not to a bathroom.
14. The plugs were pretty unsafe- boiling hot after a while.
15. The atmosphere that was supposedly there wasn't very apparent to us.
We stayed there for 2 pretty unpleasant nights and got little sleep. However on the 2nd night we stayed out as long as we could to avoid the hostel. Ruined our stay in such a lovely town.
