Don Santiago Hostel - The worst hostel in Santiago

I have read that people had good experiences in the Don Santiago Hostel, and I think that maybe this hostel thinks it's now popular enough to start treating travelers like dirt. I arrived at Don Santiago at 630 am, because I had caught an overnight bus from Mendoza. When I got to the hostel, a very cranky person told me that check in was at 11am. When I asked him if it was ok if I just waited downstairs, since I didn't want to have to just wander the streets, it was obviously not ok with him and he just went back to sleep on a couch. He even ignored me twice when I asked where the toilets were. Then, when I asked if I could use a shower, he told me to get out, saying I was being a pain in the ass! Other people might have had good experiences here, but it seems to me that this is a place where the staff only care if you don't put a foot wrong, and they don't think twice about throwing travelers out on the street in a city they don't know if the hour is inconvienent! Avoid it!
