Beijing Red Lantern House Hostel - Review from Kris Fonteyn

I stayed 2 weeks at the red lantern in March/June 2006 I first stayed a week at the first location in the hutong. Its a nice place for backpackers, not far from the subway (Jishuitan) and the busstation, so you can get anywhere really fast and inexpensive. Here you also have the opportunity to have breakfast or other meals. Internet is availible and the restrooms/showers are clean and nice. The second week i was 'transfered' because I wanted to stay longer , but the first one didn't had any rooms left. The second place they've got is located at the big street(Xinjiekou Beidajie). It's an old courthouse which they converted in dorms and double rooms and it has a nice courtyard to relax or chat with fellow tourists. This place also has Internet. I've enjoyed my stay there, the staff was very helpfull (arranging tickets and transport, and giving usefull information), next time when i'm back in Beyjing I know where to stay.
