Far East International Youth Hostel - Review from Ashley Elizabeth

This is perhaps the best hostel I have ever stayed at...! The staff were wonderful and really helpful, especially Miss Shen on the tourism desk. The breakfast buffet which was 27RMB was excellent value and filled me up for the entire day. The showers were powerful and clean and the bedrooms (I stayed in the hostel part of the complex) were comfortable. When you first arrive you think you've arrived in the middle of a shanty town... but don't let the funny little street its on put you off; I came to find it quite endearing! I rented a bike from the shop next door to the hostel and explored much of Beijing that way. However, the hostel's location is ideal and quite close to The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square etc. so you can do much on foot. I met some amazing people here and will definately stay there again when I return.
