Villa Marija - 1-2 star rating based on false-claims

Need to get some facts straight: "...only 5 min. from centre of the Hvar town..." (maybe if you drive or run... more like 15 minutes.) "...100m distance from sea..." (maybe they got the metric conversion wrong?? It's about 1km away and will take about 25-30 minutes walking along the road then down a rocky hill. "..in the peacefull part of Hvar..." Cars drive past all night - I found it quite noisy. "Apartments are new..." - (hmm... don't think so!); "...and have modern design..." (maybe if you time-warp back to circa 1982!) "air-condition" - not in the room we got... oh wait, is that Hvar-talk for an open window?? We had a shared kitchen and bathroom (toilet/shower) with 6 people but we were told it was private facilities. Owner was nice enough but I would not stay here again nor recommend it. Not good value for money considering some of the other places I have since researched that are closer to town and better facilities. It appears that other people's reviews of this accommodation on other key hostel websites that you get better rooms and better treatment when you book through this particular hostel site (like getting tea and biscuits on arrival.) However, only people who have booked through that site can leave a review... SO it goes to show that those people get preferential treatment which results in glowing reviews, (89-100% recommendations). Just balancing the ledger... 2 stars.
