3 ducks top place by newelite
A fantastic place the people I met there were some of the nicest people I have ever met I still keep in touch after two years. There is a curfew but I was still let in at 4am and the 4/5 hour cleaning time was a bit much. If you don’t want to go out at that time you can always just sit in the bar. The bar staff are easy to talk to and are a good laugh. I would recommend this hostel to the younger travellers as it can be quite lively at times. The 3 ducks was an all round excellent place to stay and I will be going back as soon as I can get a bit of money together.
I wont say its the greatest hostel i have stayed in. But I have seen and heard of alot worse. The breakfast was simple, but it was there. I was frustrated at the drink prices in the bar, and not being able to bring my own to my room like i was able to in others. I thought the staff were helpful, our travel plans were accomodated with late arrivals and early departures.
Sure it wa sa bit noisy at night, my room seemed to be directly above the subway tube. But I was there during a REALLY cold week and the room was warm and toasty, the bed was comfy and clean enough. I met some cute girls in the bar, and it was close to the Eiffell tower, what more could you want?
Stay here only if you are desperate and can't find any other place to stay. Don't expect to sleep if you stay here. Noise rules are not enforced (eventhough there are some signs asking for quiet pass 10:30pm or somewhere around that time, people just continue their party by talking loudly when socialising when the bar is closed). Rooms can be quite cramp (especially those that are for 6 or more) and quite stuffy. Plus you are not allowed to be in the hostel (they claim for cleaning purpose) from 10am to 3pm (I forget exactly) but its pretty long to be kept out. Beware. Stay there at your own risk.
Stayed there once and found it to be clean and welcoming. The Bar is very good. One of the cheapest places to drink in Paris. However, the main prob is location as after bar close anything more than a whisper will set the neighbours ranting which causes real trouble for the hostel. So enjoy but late at night shhhhh
great staff, nice backpackers, generally quite affordable, unfortunately a rather dirty location exept bar
stayed here for spring break...and i'm going back this december again. the staff were very helpful and people. there aren't many rules, the ones they do have are reasonably enforced. (such as doors lock at 2am...but they let me in at 2:05). good bar with cheap drinks.
Submitted by owner - Located at 10mn walking distance to the famou Eiffel Tower & few more minutes metro ride to the main sights. THe 3 ducks hostels is a the kind of place you would love or hate. great meeting place for backpackers. the pub serves more than 20 different beers ( probably the cheapest in town). The rate includes breakfast. The curfew is 2am. Sheets are xtra rental: 3€ euros (1 time fee)
