Angelica's Backpacker's Hostel - Corfu - Reviews & Contact Details

Angelica's is a hidden gem in Sidari Corfu run by a wonderful Greek family. They offer to collect you from the bus stop and when they could not find me (I got off at the wrong bus stop) they drove to look for me, found me and drove me to the hostel, and carried my bag upstairs. They also drove me to the bustop when leaving. In general they were very easy going and accomodating. The prices are very good - I paid 15 euros a night for a bed in a nice, clean room with 2 beds, a kitchenette, its own bathroom, and a balcony with table and chairs and a small line to hang your towels and clothes in the sun. Because there was no other guest, I had the whole room to myself. There is also use of a washing machine for free. 15 euros a night for all this I think this must be the best deal in town. The only downside is that it is not in the centre of the town, but not all places are. This is easily solved by renting a motorbike - something many people do in Sidari. Of course the upside of being out of the centre is that it is quieter than the centre, so you can get a good sleep. It's not a party place, but there is plenty of that going on downtown. It's really a nice, chilled out place to get a good sleep in between outings. Sidari is home of the famous "Canal D'Amour" or the channel of love. The legend is that when you swim in this canal you attain love. This happened to two of my friends on our last visit, so I don't doubt it. I myself found swimming the canal to be a wonderful, experience. I was so happy with my stay of 4 nights that I am writing this review after leaving this morning.The next time I come to Sidari I will definitely stay at Angelica's.
