I stayed in the Ace Hostel in September 2005 with my brothers and we could not have been more pleased with the apartment and location - we did this trip on a shoestring budget and have already recommended the Ace Hostel to friends and family - we will certainly not hesitate to use this hostel again - Luci who came to give us our apartment keys, etc, was with us within 15 minutes of ringing and was a lovely well-mannered man - we had no problems whatsoever. The whole trip to Hungary (our father's homeland) was fantastic - great people/great food/great/sights - absolutely lovely.
I dont know where their pictures come from but this hostel is nothing like the pictures shown here. We got to see two of their apartments since Janos supposedly "upgraded" us to a nicer room the second night after complaining about the first place. Since the owners live 20 km away from the city, it took several phone calls to get the owners back into town to give us keys to the second apartment. Our experience here was miserable, starting with lack of proper heating in the apartment and no hot water to take a shower!!! No fun in late December!!! The only "towels" we got were two old very faded 101 Dalmation kid size beach towels. The sheets were so thin I could see right through them (mattress stains and all) and the pillow cases had holes in it! The apartments had a very strange smell in them as well. The only positive was the location. Both apartments we stayed in were very central.
We are the best located hostel in Budapest in the 5th district. To check in call our mobile telephone immediately when you are in Budapest.
Please no arrival after 10pm!
Our private suites are 100 m from the Danube, which divide Budapest to Buda and Pest.
We have only private places, not in one building, around our office, no dormitory and common places at all.
The windows facing to the famous walking and shopping street Vaci, where are the big 5 star hotels Marriott , Kempinski, Interkontinental and Meridien. Going to the street you find outside restaurants the favourit music club Fatmos and the famous restaurant Fatal. Walking to the Danube you can see the nice view of Budapest. From some of the suites (apartments) you can see the Citadel.
