I stayed at Room With a View on Proconsul in Florence. It was on the 5th floor with no elevator and taxed my breath, but otherwise was great. Clean, roomy, inexpensive, and comfortable. Nice kitchen, shared with all the other roomers. Right in the centre of everything, with the Bargello just steps away. I loved it and stayed almost a month.
Between Santa Maria del Fiore ( Duomo ) and Palazzo Vecchio, in front of Bargello, the apartment is at a stone throw from any attraction and within a walking distance from Sata Maria Novella train station.
Rooms have a gorgeous view of the Cathedral or Giotto's tower and Palazzo Vecchio. From the terrace on the roof you can enjoy a stunning 360° view of Florence and the hills surrounding the city. Own keys, kitchen and laundry facilities. Internet access.
