This place is a joke! by errolneo
First of all, the free airport pick-up is a LIE!! We confirmed with the staff about the pick-up a few days before we arrived but when we arrived, nothing was there. So we called them and they told us that their pick-up van was ACCIDENTALLY unavailable, simply because they used it for other tours on the same day. So we needed to get a taxi to get to their place. When we arrived, they apologised and promised that they would compensate by bringing us from the centre of town to the airport on our last day in KK. Again, we confirmed the time with them the night before but guess what, nothing showed up 2 hours before our flight. I called them and they just indifferently told me that the driver was not around. When I questioned their service and attitude, they just dropped the call before I finished my sentence.
I still get irritated thinking about this experience. After all, nothing is worth at this place. Despite the horrendous service, the location is bad, their tours were much more expensive than other agencies, and they didn't give us the requested room type. I'll never ever recommend this to anyone, NEVER!!
I disagree with the other rewiews,because I am sorely disappointed in this hostel. Firstly, the room was a bunker without windows,with hair on the blankets, the staff couldn't be more unpleasant, very expensive trips,... I don't understand how people can say it is a nice place because we were in better places in the middle of the jungle, moreover last day they added one bunk bed more thus it To sum up, my stay in Malaysia was incredible if I forget my stay in this place.
A real backpackers with an enormusly friendly and helpful staff. They picked us up at the airport, they have shuttle to the town centre and back from there, provided us with a map, kept our baggage for some days and all for free. They offer really good trips and their taxi is much cheaper than normal. Recommandable is also their pub in town. We were mor then happy with the backpackers - perfect ! Regards Judith Böhm
This is a great place to stay. It's cheap, clean , the facilities are really good and the staff are amazing. They really take good care of you. I spent two weeks there and would recommend it to anyone - your only place to stay in Kota Kinabalu.
Fantastic place... i reckon its not a Hostel standard but Motel.
When we check in and wanna do some adventure activities in Sabah, Borneo Global staff took the hassle to make all nessessary arrangement and their warn hospitality.
It make us felt at home n cozy... best part...Its Clean
