Shocking Experience by Moonchild
Four of us booked this hostal from the UK for 5 nights during a 16 day break to Cusco and the Sacred Valley and paid a 50% deposit.
Twice our rooms got double booked. The first time 2 of us had to be put up at another hostal, the second time(!) the owner (Raf) reluctantly took us all to a different hotel and agreed to pay for us, plus the difference as it was more expensive. Upon checking out of this hotel, the owner said that we owed a further $70. We said that Raf had agreed to pay this after much arguing, and left for the airport.
Whilst in the departure lounge at Cusco, just before our flight was leaving, we were met by an Airport Security Guard, an armed Policeman and the hotelier to arrest us for not paying the $70. We managed to pay off this money and resist arrest. However, this could have been VERY DANGEROUS and resulted in us missing our flights to the UK. The owner of Hostal Sweet Daybreak is a CON MERCHANT. Don't Stay Here at all Costs.
The Rooms are also dirty, freezing and not worth the money.
We had a supergreat time. Fun company, great location. We realy liked the view from our balcony, view on a sunny Cusco, we saw the whole old citycenter. At nighttime citylights and fireworks.
For the first time in South America realy hot showers!!! We enjoyed the garden they have, superrelaxed. We loved it.
