I arranged to stay at the Mandarin Hostel for the first few weeks of my stay in Taipei.. I found the guys running it very helpful and ended up staying a little longer than I had intended. All the conveniences were there and the apartment I stayed at was very comfortable. I'd recommend this place to anyone coming to Taipei with the intention of securing a teaching job.
