Big Johns Hostel - Review from Kevin Windfield
I guess Big John's is pretty much what you'd expect from an Australian who is driven by his customers needs. It's inexpensive, clean and located in the more metropolitan up-market, not seedy, part of town. All the rooms, both private and dorm, are airconditioned. The staff are friendly, helpful with varying levels of English literatcy. Big John's sometimes gruff exterior is easily cracked to reveal a warm, friendly, compassionate and sometimes very funny, unique individual.
Most of the guests, many of whom are European, American, Canadian, Ozzy and Kiwi are in their 20-30's, but that doesn't the younger and young at heart having a good time.
The bar and restauraunt (great food) are open 24 hours, which, if you're not careful, can be a bit of an all to enjoyable trap to fall into.
I met up and teamed up with many other travellers whislt staying at Big John's on Thonglor and can't recommend it enough.
