Discovery Lodge is good. The owner (Nina) is an outstanding person. I got into trouble at the boarder and without hesitation she wired my 20 000 bhat. At the lodge you are looked after and for the foeringers who do find trouble it is good to know someone has your back. I can not think of another place I have stayed were someone would go to that extent to help their guests. I stayed there for 7 months, along with friends that i met in thailnd, who still live there. Its not just a guest house. Its a home.

Simply off the map far from city center. Description above is ok but should also mention it is located on top floor of 3 story garage. This lodge is not for tourists.

The lounge/bedrooms lead to a verandah with tables and chairs where you can sunbathe, read or just relax. A pillow, bed sheet and a towel are provided and additional linen or blankets are available upon request. The suites can be rented as a single unit or can be split into two bedrooms sharing a common bathroom depending on your requirements. Facilities Amenities available in the common rooms include computers with access to the internet, printer and disc burner, international pay phones and fax services, coin operated washing machines, (laundry service is available on request), cable TV and a small book swapping facility. There is a mini-mart on the premises supplying a variety of drinks and ready to eat meals. Location With its enviable location, Discovery Lodge is your gateway into the heart of Bangkok. Suttisan Station, a five minute walk from Discovery Lodge, provides direct access to the underground and Sky Train station networks and buses. Underground Railway Fares at 10 Baht for three stations plus 5 Baht per additional station are exceptionally cheap. From Mochit, Sukhumvit and Silom underground stations you can switch to the Sky Train and direct access to all Bangkok’s major tourist attractions as well as links to river ferries. The maximum Sky Train fare is 40 Baht and river ferry fares start at 2 Baht.
