Good and cheap (400 baht per night for 2 ppl) by elad
For a small room with air con, hot shower, cable tv, including breakfast in September I paid 400 baht! But there are more expensive rooms than this. It depends on which room you take (I took one without a window).
It's pretty close to everything. 6 mins walk from patong beach, and all the other things like shopping and mall and restaurants and things like that are also close. Owner is nice and helpful.
That place is the cheapest tour agency and guest house in Phuket I think. The service was excellent and the tours were great. The reason it's so cheap, as I found out, is some sort of rivalry between tour agents in that area. Kaya decided to lower the prices (to the extent that she doesn't even get commission for some of the things she sells) in order to break the other agents there. Welp, good for us!!! XD
So don't think the cheap prices mean low class tours or bad service. Quite the opposite! Great enjoyable tours, great service.
Go there, enjoy, and save your money! Why spend twice the price on a tour in another agency selling the exact same tour?!?
Also the rooms are nice and clean if you're not looking for a fancy hotel but a guest house (about 6 mins from the beach by foot).
Been there on March 2009, and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are clean, have everything in it (hot shower, excellent cable tv, refrigerator, air-con, etc.), the staff is very friendly and helpful and the price is ridiculous for what you get. The stuff is also very professional and will give you great travel tips, the tours I booked from them were great and really enjoyable. They have an exclusive fishing trip to the owner's private island. Highly recommended. This trip is different from all the other trips.
The location of the guest house is great 'cause you can get from there to all the main things you'd need like shopping, beach, road, massage, restaurants, etc.
I absolutely LOVED this place, and I will surely stay there again next year (hopefully).
Been to Kaya House last month, and was very pleased with Kaya and Ae (the other girl who works there). They both helped us with many things (from asking directions to the mall and the Tiger disco to asking about tours and many other things). kaya was especially patient. she answered all of our questions even late at 2:00 a.m (she was still working). The rooms were good, clean, and not expensive. I would go there again. More than great for backpackers.
Kaya House is a small guest house located 5 mins from Patong beach in Phuket, and at the center of the shopping area. The rooms are clean and nice, they are equipped with hot and cold shower, toilet, tv, air-con and a mini refrigirator.
The beds are comfortable, and most importantly, the price is fair. In low season you can stay for as low as 350 baht per night.
The owner is friendly and nice, and will answer all your questions. She has been a tour guide around thailand for about 10 years, and has great knowledge regarding when and where to go, what to be careful of, and which are the best places to go to around thailand.
Kaya House is also a tour agency, so of course you can book tours and attractions there as well, not only in phuket, but also in Krabi, and other parts of Thailand.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay there. I've been there 3 times already, and soon will be there for the forth time :-)
