The Lodge - Simple, Safe, Helpful
My sister and I stayed here for two weeks last summer. The desk attendant wasn't the most pleasant fellow in the world, but he was certainly very patient with us when we switched our room around a few times (we started off in a 4-person room and changed to a 2 person) and he was very helpful as far as providing us with maps and telling us how to find the closest grocery store and such.
The place was pretty clean and it was nice to have a kitchen, dining, and common room available.
The only issue we encountered was that the TV in our room was broken ... but really when you are staying in London who wants to sit around in a room and watch TV?
The view was lovely - over looking a cute little park - and the location was excellent! Only about a block from the metro station.
I felt pretty comfortable and very safe during our stay and it was definitely very affordable which is excellent for two young college girls who would rather spend money on food and adventure than a fancy hotel room.
I would definitely stay here again :-)
