Hello Vietnam Hotel is located in the middle of the bustle of Old Town Hanoi. Manh Tien the hotel owner was extremely helpful in getting us plane tickets and bookings in other Viet Nam cities, but there was no presssure to book anything with them. We met wonderful people in the lobby of the hotel, Staff was extremely helpful. Room spotless and convenient to the old town and to the Hoan Kiem Lake area. Loved the puppets! We booked a Halong Bay tour with them that was fabulous.

Our trip to Hanoi was great and the Hello Vietnam HOtel was really really nice. Its convenient location made sightseeing and shopping such a delight. I loved the food which for me is very important. The rooms are spacious and cozy and the staff was really polite, helpful and friendly. I\'ll definitely recommend this hotel to my friends

Satisfaction guaranteed This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. I had a good room with view on 2th floor. Prices are reasonable and I had great experience with my tours. I compared prices with internet and was able to get better prices through their service. Definitely recommend this one. " Satisfaction guaranteed This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. I had an absolutely amazing time at Hello Vietnam Hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly...Lots of thanks to them for putting a smile on my face. I was traveling alone, but met so many interesting, intelligent, and friendly people... This place is a great choice for anyone looking to stay in Hanoi." We booked this hotel because of the very good reviews on different websites. Before booking we have contacted Hello Vietnam Hotel by email. The manager wanted to know our flight number, so he can arrange pick up from airport to the hotel free of charge. A couple of days ago we arrived at the airport. We are very disappointed when we realized that there is no pick up at all. We have to pay the taxi ourselves. In the hotel we were shocked. This hotel can’t be the one we booked. What we see, is totally different from the nice photos of the hotel on different sites. It was a nightmare. We have stayed in cheap guesthouses in Thailand and Cambodia, this is by far the worst. The room was dirty. I can wipe off dust from the bedstead. Although that evening was extremely hot, we decided not to turn on the airconditioning during 10-15 minutes. First we had to clean the outside of the aircon. The ceiling was leaking. The windows got no curtains. To get privacy we cover the window with paper from a magazine. The walls should be white, but some places got lots of black dots ( moldy ). On the bed we found hairs, not belonging to one of us. The bathroom has no light. When we ask for light, the staff came upstairs to have a look and told us it will be fixed tomorrow. It was difficult to take a shower, because there is just a small stream of water coming out from the showerhead. Furthermore, there was a hole in the wall between the bathroom and the staircase. If you want, you can put 3 fingers through the hole. After 1 horrifying night and without free breakfast we decided to look for another hotel as soon as possible. We can not tell you a lot about the service, because the 3 persons of the staff we talked to, can not speak or understand English well. We had to communicate with hands. We know it is a low-budget hotel, therefore we don’t expect any luxury or high-standard comfort. We do expect moderate cleanliness, but it was extremely dirty. I hardly can understand the very good reviews on different sites and even this site. The ratings on this site are all 5 stars, with one exception ( 2 stars ). Surprisingly, three of the reviewers have the same name as the person from the hotel with whom we had email contact. So, we had a very bad experience with this hotel. Today we found other sites with only bad reviews about this hotel. We definitely not recommend this place. Think twice.

We had four wonderful weeks in Vietnam, beginning our holiday in Hanoi, spending nearly two weeks off and on at the Splendid Star. The staff bent over backwards to accomodate our every need, we got to know them really well and were sad when it was time to leave. Our rooms, as we came and went, were always immaculate, air conditioned, very comfortable and of a high standard, we would recommend them to anyone looking for accomodation in Hanoi. The location was very central, and we walked around the city, shopping, eating and sight seeing and just taking in the lifestyle. The staff at the Hello Vietnam Hotel booked tours and the remainder of our accomodation for us, they rang us from time to time as we travelled down the coast to Saigon. Their service was second to none, we could learn a lot from them. They arranged for taxi's to pick us up from Airports and return us to our Hotel, a staff member, met us from the train from Sapa at 4.30am in the morning, smiling! These wonderful people made our holiday, they set a very high benchmark for others to follow, and no one else in Vietnam quite lived up to them. So if you're looking for a great place to stay with all the trimmings and a bit more you/ve found it. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Micheal, Ha and Dung you are all way in our heart. We will be back for sure. xxx

We had a great stay at the hotel. The staff were very accamodating to our needs. Hot showers, good location with a short walk to the main areas. The photos of this hotel are very deceiving. We booked this hotel based on the reviews & photos, but the rooms we stayed in on levels 1 & 2.. were nothing like the photos or reviews at all. The room smelt, the beds were damp and linen all stained, the bathroom was awful (looked like it had not been cleaned in many many years). The toilet seat also fell off when I lifted it up. It is ok if you're on a budget and not after something really clean, but if you want clean - I would not recommend this hotel at all. I could not handle it and had to leave the hotel and go elsewhere (was VERY happy to give up the fee already paid) The service at the counter was ok, but when asking about prices for car travel, we were quoted with one price, then charged another much more expensive price when confirmation was made.

Certainly the Hello Vietnam Hotel Hanoi was the best hotel of all we've been to in Vietnam for our 2 week trip in Vietnam. If you look for a hotel with party and no rulles, you better go somewhere else - you can't even smoke in an external part of this hostel. But on the otherside, that's the most friendly and clean place that makes you feel you're at home. A bed was havenly soft, bathrooms were always clean and staff was great in caring the gusets... Good location, in the middle of shopping area and also very close to attractions like: Hoan Kiem lake, Temple, Opera house, church ... Staff were all very courteous, specially Micheal was very helpful and throughtful. Our rooms including the bathroom were very clean. Just has one issue that the bathroom quite small. I was very impressed with this hostel. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The cleanliness of the facility was excellent. The services they offer are invaluable to travelers - i.e. pickup at the airport, arranging tours. I would strongly recommend this hostel

I am very happy with the service of the hotel staff who are really friendly. The tour packages that were recommended were customized to our budget and needs and timing and we really enjoy every moment of it. Located in the Old Quarter also enables easy access to shopping and entertainment locations. Really a great stay. thank you verry much

This hotel was awesome.the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff speak really good english and booked all our tours, flights, transfers etc - It made going to sapa, and halong bay really easy. I recommend travellers to book their tours when they are in Hanoi, not in advance via internet to avoid paying higher charges
