First time to Delhi, so many surprises upon arrival. The last thing we wanted was a dirty scary hotel. Don't worry when you pull up and have to walk down a dark narrow street- it is back there. We LOVED Hotel Tara! Clean, quiet, good breakfast (included), nice shower, great rooftop view! We ( 2 women) woke up and walked around Old Delhi for an hour taking in the sights and ALL the people. Perfect hotel, especially for the price!!

It was a pleasure to stay here. The staff were friendly and have done more to make your stay superb. They arrange a quick cars meaning you never had to wait more than 15 minutes. Incredible breakfast, high quality continental buffet with hot breakfast cooked to perfection to order. Free internet available in the rooms . Rooms very comfortable, spotlessly clean and cleaned daily. Great shower. Very relaxing.Hotel travel desk help us to make my flight and rail tickets.

The neighborhood around the hotel is pretty seedy, and although I traveled there alone as I woman. All rooms are air conditioned, which is wonderful, and they are also very clean (especially in contrast to outside). The man behind the desk at the hotel can help in booking prepaid taxis and train tickets. He booked my train ticket to and from Bodh Gaya in a matter of minutes, so I didn’t have to go through the hassle of waiting at the train station for it! All in all, my experience at the Hotel Tara Palace was enjoyable, and I would definitely look into staying there again if I am ever back in Delhi!

We had booked our hotel, the Hotel Tara Palace, on Hostelbookers.com, and as usual, paid a 10% deposit, the balance being payable directly to the hotel. One of the benefits of this hotel was "free airport transfers", so we had called them and arranged a pick-up from the airport. When we arrived we found our man, holding a sign with our names on, and we got into his car. He is a student from Kashmir, and during the holidays he works for the Hotel Tara Palace—he has been working there for six years. We got a bit of a free tour of Delhi (or "Dally", in his thick Kashmiri accent) on the way into town, and our man pointed out the landmarks and made general conversation. And then out of nowhere, he launched into his spiel. While you are there, the agent will be able to help you with your onward travel arrangements, or any tours of the city that you want. I can give you a tour tomorrow for 400 Rupees—if you go with a taxi driver in the street it will cost at least 800. By the way, do not take any taxis or rickshaws in Delhi as they will rip you off. Call me and I will take you wherever you want to go. Be very careful in Delhi, and do not set foot outside your hotel on your own. The touts are terrible and you will lose all your money
