This place is great bank for buck... We stayed for four nights in a bunk room that cost us just $15 per night! ($60 each for the whole stay!!) So I recommend this place to anyone who whats to save $$$. The place was clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful and nice. We will be back in Wellington in 6 weeks and will definatly stay at Lodge in the City!!
This lodge should not be operating, should not be allowed to advertise! If you want to be robbed of your money and stay in a lodge surrounded by junkies, alcoholics, bums this is the place to go! Staff are rude, unhelpful and are complete F#!K Wits!
HELPFUL INFORMATION
1.Take note of the NO REFUNDS signs everywhere, they meen it and you'll soon realise why.
2. It is also used to house Salvation Army dropp-offs this is a good indication of the disturbing people you will come across.
3.No matter how desperate you are DO NOT ENTER!!!
Not particularly clean. The management, in particular Jane, were extremely rude. I was in the hostel for about 24 hours when I learnt that Jane’s nickname was bitch, certainly a decent reflection of her behaviour. When I decided to cook, I had to get things like pots, pans and knives from reception, including detergent, which became quite exhausting after awhile. Bear in mind that if you don’t have any bedding, you will only be told about it once you have paid your accommodation. To be fair, I think the only good thing at the time was the people that were living there.
This definitely would be the one place not to go to for your Wellington experience.
Average price in Wellington, nothing special but the rooms are nice and clean. For a few nights it's ok. As it’s also a long term hostel you can find a lot of "interesting" people from al over living there.
