Hanoi Holiday Hotel - The staff are thieves, jewellery stolen during our stay

i stayed at the holiday hotel with my partner in august 2009. we ended up staying for 6 nights due to a delay in getting a new passport. the hotel is not a bad place to stay, clean and comfortable, HOWEVER we noticed after out room had been cleaned on the 4th day that there were small items of makeup missing. this included a mascara and face cream, total value approx. $50. we informed the staff at the front desk and they said they would look into it. the stolen items were zipped into a makeup case at the bottom of a suitcase which had been closed, so it was clear somebody had been through our belongings while we were out. the front desk staff ignored any future mention we made of the missing items. after leaving the hotel we discovered that more items were missing, including a pair of silver earrings and rings, taken from a separate part of the same suitcase. during our stay at the holiday inn several hunder dollar's worth of our belongings were stolen by the staff and our concerns were ignored by management. i would strongly recommend finding another hotel in hanoi because this hotel is badly run by people who are not trustworthy.
