$10 US a night is an honest price for this travellers hotel. Highly recommend for backpackers and people on a budget. Its clean and the young lady on the afternoon/night shift is more than obliging (moreso than the young lady on the morning shift) and they have great tours. She also speaks better english. We saw her deal exceptionally well with a customer with whon they had a simple misunderstanding with and she took full accountability and responsibility and dealth with the people and situation extremely well. Always a good sign. We recommend the 3 day $80 US Halong Bay tour booked through this hotel with APT tours (ask to get on a tour with their tour guide called Sun...nice guy).

Even though the Blue Sky hotel is a nice place to stay in (12 dollar for a double but no DVD in our room or hot water)it did bother us that we saw the owner write reviews about his own hotel under false names on several review sites. Also they have deals with many busdrivers to have people dropped off in front of their hotel upon arrival in Hanoi. If you are okay with this kind of aggressive sales, then I would recomend the hotel. It is of good quality for the price.

At 7USD a room, there is NOTHING in Hanoi that beats this for quality. I stayed in a room on the 4th floor. It was quite a climb up and would be an inconvenience for some. However, the room was huge. One double bed and a single bed. With a TV and DVD player. The bathroom had an actual bath with shower! There was a fan in the room as well as an a/c.
