Duc Thai Hotel - Review from Jo Mac donald

My partner and I, and a friend stayed at the Duc Thai Hotel in Hanoi this July. I booked by contacting the hotel direct via their website and my request was dealt with immediately by the exceptionally friendly and professional Mr Tom. I also booked a 2 night cruise on a luxury junk in Halong Bay through Mr Tom and the trip was fantastic and all that we hoped for. Mr Tom arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport, the airport is a good 40 minutes away from the Old Quarter so there is a charge for this service. Once we arrived at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful and would endeavour to help you with any request. The location of the hotel is great, right in the middle of the Old Quarter so you are just a short walk from all the sights. Even though the hotel is quite small the rooms are nice and big with lovely dark wood furniture. There is a lift which was a blessing and breakfast is included. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and stay there again if I was ever to go back to Hanoi. Also, Mr Tom spent hours helping us arrange accommodation in Hoi An, as everywhere we tried was full, he found us a lovely hotel and arranged a good rate for us. Full marks for customer service to Mr Tom and his staff!
