We are very pleased to announce the new 2008 version of our old famous thebackpacker.net. The entire site has been completely revamped, renewed, redesigned and several new secions have been added including the Travel Wiki, where users can read, review and write their own view points about any destinaton on the planet. Also new is the Food and Recipe section where we hope to grow the Index just like our very succesful Beer Index. Please continue to enjoy the site and keep contributing, sharing, commenting and reviewing!

The Backpacker Network was first launched in 1999 and has grown into one of the most comprehensive backpacking resources on the web. Made famous by the legendry beer and bar indexes we have recently expanded the site to include hundreds of travel guides for everywhere from Bangkok to Dublin.

We've also added tons of interactivity so all our visitors can share there experiences and tips with each other. You can submit travel stories, travel experiences, recommend beers, bars, cheap eats and more. In fact you can comment and suggest things on just about every area of the site.
