Route highlights: The starting point is “Pionerska” hut from where it is a 2, 30 hours walk to “Seven Lakes” chalet, traversing one of the natural reserves of Rila Mountains - “Skakavitza”, well-known for its 80m high waterfall. Another 2,30 hours of walking will lead you to the highest lake “Salzata” (“The Tear” (2535m). The path skirts all the lakes, reaching, for the most ardent admirers of nature, the peak Otovitza (2696m), which offers a stunning panorama of all the seven lakes. The circus is a representative site of sub-alpine and alpine vegetation and relief with picturesque landscapes of green meadows with fragrant flowers and forests of dwarf pine and juniper, in the higher parts steep rocks surround the lakes.
