Title: Rural Pub Tours
Website: http://www.RuralPubTours.com
I was visiting my girlfriend in Dublin for the weekend, she is always arranging things for me to do & see while I'm over there.
This time I made it very clear that as it would be my last visit to Dublin for some time I would like to do something I wanted to do for a change.
Well after that comment I was nearly not going anywhere.
So as usual we met in the city centre in Dublin, I had  just arrived & my girlfriend had just finished collage for the weekend.
We were having a coffee in Temple Bar, Yes I said "coffee" when the people at the table next to me left, i noticed a couple of different Flyers of Day trip on their table. So I jumped over & picked them up, it was the usual stuff hop on hop off bus,day trip to castles ect.
However the one that got my attention was "Rural Pub Tours" this sounded great.
What was involved was taking a tour which visited Country Pubs out side of Dublin. The bus left Dublin at around 3pm and we had our first stop at a bar called "The Blue Light" we all  had a Guinness(which was included in the tour price) the views of Dublin City from this pub were amazing.
The next stop was only 5 minutes at "Johnnie Fox's Pub" now this pub is a real gem, we spent more than an hour here and if you were to read all the different things on the wall you'd need a week or 2.
After a spectacular drive through some scary roads we arrived at "Rounwood" where we found ourselves at the real highest pub in Ireland.
The next venue was to be for our Dinner(also included in the tour price)
once again the drive to this pub which was used as an old hunting lodge over 200 years ago was also breathtaking. The dinner was delicious and enough on the plate to feed an army.
Not far down the road after dinner we made our fifth stop to what can only be described as a time warp.this pub was a real old topical Irish Pub.
we visited 2 more pubs before returning to Dublin one in a town called Avoca which featured in a famous T.V. series and the last stop was a fine big bar set in a little village and by the time we had arrived all the locals were there dancing and singing. We enjoyed our day and i WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR TO ANYONE VISITING DUBLIN
