The wid Amazon of Peru - Good info

I liked reading this story. I'm headed to Peru next week and am wondering how to have this same experience in Puerto Maldonado! Did you use a tour guide/company to get to your end location? Was that a hotel or hostel that you stayed at? I'm really interested in your story! Please respond if possible!
