Kunming City Overview

The Chinese have lived here for 2000 years. Kunming was a remote outpost for centuries but attained fame in the Ming Dynasty Built on a plateau on a high hill and surrounded by hills, the climate is consistently warm, a great tourist attraction. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province is not only great for its marvelous climate, some wonderful sites around Kunming are worth exploring. There is much to enjoy, the Stone Forest, many caves, deep valleys, rivers and mountains and the colourful Yunnan culture.
