Arles City Overview - History

Culture out completely! Arles has it all for the culture vulture – van Gogh (just prior to his death and during his “going mad” period) and Picasso were both drawn to this town on the Rhone and museums and art galleries are in abundance. Arles has wonderful churches and Roman ruins that bed to be explored.

Not cheap but more affordable than Paris. Food is where you can save a bundle – picnic regularly and your food budget would drop from US$ 60 to around US$18. Good range of accommodation from US$ 25 – 70.
