!City Overview
Stuttgart is the largest wine-growing city in Germany. Two-thirds of the land inside the city limits is devoted to parks, gardens and woodlands. During World War II 60% of the buildings were leveled by the bombing, and not one of its landmarks or historical structures survived intact. There are an abundance of theater groups; cultural festivals and museums, and the Stuttgart Ballet, State Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra are highly regarded around the world. Stuttgart is one of the largest manufacturing cities in Germany, and is the home of Mercedes and Porsche.
