City Overview
Frankfurt is the financial and commercial capital of Germany, and has had a considerable commercial clout since the 13th century. Frankfurt is the home of the German Stock Exchange as well as the European Central Bank. In 1944, Frankfurt suffered considerable damage and most of the city had to be rebuilt. Instead of rebuilding the original buildings, which were destroyed, Frankfurters opted to erect skyscrapers and earned the nickname "Mainhattan". The city's parks, gardens, original old taverns, vibrant cultural life and elegant shops provide the perfect contrast to the ultra modern architectural style of the high-rise buildings.

Daily Budget
In Frankfurt, you are looking between $41 to $55 for a single room per person per night, between $61 and $83 for a double room per person per night and a dorm will set you back between $20 and $25 per person per night. Food could set you back between $8 and $27 per person, depending on what you order.
