Cologne is the largest city in the Rhineland. This city was devastated during the World War II bombings, but with the reconstruction of Cologne, a history that had lain buried for centuries was brought to light. There was evidence that Cologne had been important and powerful during the early Christian era as well as during the Roman times and the Middle Ages. Cologne is a stylish attractive city located right on the Rhine and has internationally renowned museums, attractive shops modern architecture, which contrasts greatly with the old historical buildings and has excellent beer.
