It has been around a long time and seen much and as a result this ancient city has a lot to offer apart from its world famous archaeological sites and crumbling ruins of a long gone empire. With pedestrian only streets and outdoor cafes, houses and tiered apartments hung with brilliant geraniums, and colourful rowdy markets for daytime exploring, Athens is much more than a 'museum' town.
