Country Overview
Pirates, missionaries and of course backpackers alike have been lured to this fantastically beautiful place and with good reason. The air is filled with spicy aromas and the lifestyle cannot be compared with any other but there is a black cloud hanging over this majestic place, war, politics and corruption have taken away some of the magic but don’t let that deter you from visiting one of Gods special places.
Daily Budget
Well as we all know camping and cooking for oneself is the perfect way to save those pennies, however you can survive on US$30 per day, your lodging costs about US$2-6 and your food should cost about US$1-7 per day, making this one of the cheapest places on earth to visit.
When to Go!
The best time to come and visit here is in the dry season, during the months of May and October. as the rest of the time is wet, cold and not very desirable. From the 14th June to the 13th July is the Bali Arts Festival, thousands of people come to experience the ways and cultures of the Indonesian people, with musicians and dancers entertaining you until the wee hours of the morn, there is also the Renggong Horse Contest for those of you who are horse lovers, this is for you, come and watch how horses dance to the music of the gamelan orchestra. This is held in the month of September.
