Nagano City Overview

Nagano hosted the XVlll Winter Olympics in 1998. The Japan Alps is a funky hikers destination in summer and great for skiers in the winter. Besides Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, these mountain ranges are a challenge for any hiker. The villages in the mountains offer a unique insight into mountain life. Traditional architecture is still retained in some of the villages.
