For festivals and open air markets, Marrakech is a city not to be missed. With ancient mosques, sultans’ palaces and elaborately decorated buildings, it also has the Place Djemaa el-Fna, an enormous square in the old city where open-air food stalls call to the hungry travellers, and snake-charmers, jugglers, and magicians are amongst the assortment of entertainers putting on mysterious and compelling performances.
