City Overview
With its combination of cosmopolitan, rural and seaside attractions Gran Canaria has something for everybody. It is often called a continent in miniature because of its extremes of scenery and climate.Its landscapes change quickly from Wild West canyons to Sahara-like dunes and idyllic pine forests. While there may be snow on the mountain the resorts can be baking in the hot sunshine.
Although immensely popular with the sun and sand brigade you can get away from it all with ease as nowhere on the island is more than an hours drive away from the playgrounds of Las Palmas or Maspalomas.
Daily Budget
Cost's here are slightly lower than the Spanish mainland. Budget travellers could manage on $40--$50 if they shared rooms at the cheapest hotels and apartments, ate at fast food joints or made their own food from choices found in the local supermarkets. U$ 60- 100 would allow you to have more comfortable accommodation and really party.
