City Overview
One of the worlds most beautiful capitals, Stockholm is built on a series of 14 islands, the surrounding water is reportedly so clean, that if you completely run out of money and are desperate for a wash and a good meal, it is possible to swim and fish anywhere in the city. In summer the evenings seem to streach on forever while in winter the nights are fun filled, making Stockholm a city that is seriously in love with its nightlife.
Daily Budget
Sweden is one of the most expensive European cities. Cooking your own meals and staying in campgrounds, budget on US$28 per person per day.Visit during low season in summer, stay in mid-range hotels and eat moderately priced meals US$50 or if travelling solo US$100 a day will get you by. To save maney on attraction and public transport get a Stockholm card (US$29 for 1 day; US$50 for 2 days; US$71 for 3 days) at the local tourist office, it includes a guide book and city maps.
