Berne City Overview

One of the most beautiful cities in the world dating back to the 12th Century. In 1983 the United Nations declared it a World Cultural Landmark. Over the past few years contemporary-style homes and structures have been discreetly added to the historic environment. Tuesdays and Saturday are market days. People come into town to sell their produce and wares and a festive atmosphere permeates the city which has the feel of a large provincial town rather than a city.
