City Overview
Little more than a stopover, if that, for travelers on their way to the mountains, Interlaken nevertheless does have its advantages. One is that it is the center of adventure sports and it offers loads of outdoor activities from horse riding to skydiving. It also offers backpacker accommodation in both hostels and campsites.
Daily Budget
Switzerland is an expensive place to tour, and you have either got to be pretty loaded to wander its fair hills and valleys, or you have to be smart and really do some juggling of resources and desires. Should you stay in hostels or camp, and cook you own grub, then your daily expenses for meals and accommodation should not be more than US$30 a day. However, if you go for broke and live high off the hog, with fine dining at restaurants and a private room with your own bath etc, then you can quite easily double or even treble that figure.
