Aleppo City Overview - History
Set in the north of Syria is the city of Aleppo, an ancient place and the site where Abraham milked a cow. It is known for its magnificent citadel and the longest covered souk (marketplace) in the world. Unfortunately, Syria has been listed by the US State Department as one of the seven countries sponsoring terrorism and has strongly advised against Americans visiting.
