City Overview
Known for its stretches of clean sandy beaches and heady holiday atmosphere, Bournemouth has been around since 1811, when Louis Tregonwell built himself a quiet little retreat on the unpopulated and wild heath land. He would throw a thrombie if he came back from the grave. The sprawling metropolis, of which Bournemouth resort is the centre, reaches from Lymington to Poole Harbour and is anything but quiet.

Daily Budget
With cheap meals coming at about US$5 upwards, and cheap lodgings in the region of US$17 upwards, a backpacker could just about make it on US$52, but for US$123 a day the budget will stretch to a B&B, one good nosh a day, and one or two sights.
