!City Overview
Newcastle-on-Tyne is the main city of Northumbria, and although not the most beautiful spot on the map does have an advantage over other places in its cheerful, hard-working, hard-playing citizens. Situated in an area that has Hadrian's Wall running through, and wide-open stretches of moorland with fertile green wooded valleys, making it great for hiking or cycling. Bunkhouses and hostels are plentiful in this area and a backpacker should have no problem with accommodation or camping.
