!City Overview
Badly bombed in the Second World War, Sheffield is today a lively cosmopolitan city with a vibrant student population, full of cafes, bars and modern architecture, but has not lost its heritage of old buildings entirely and there are remnants still to be found in the city centre and suburbs. Shopping is done in the pedestrian areas where department stores, discount shops, and top fashion outlets abound, and in The Moor’s there is a permanent open-air market.
