City Overview
Hawaii's largest city and home to over 400,000 people, Honolulu has come a long way from the days of simple huts and grass-skirted maidens greeting their bronzed canoe paddling sweethearts at the rippling ocean's edge.
Today Honolulu is the site of a major airport and skyscrapers line its bustling city streets, but nothing can detract from its legendary beaches and there are still dreams to be filled and memories to be made on their wide sandy stretches.
Daily Budget
$25 a day should give you a reasonable stay if you are prepared to camp, hitchhike or travel by bus, and of course prepare your own grub, but once you start putting on the dog or trying to be larney then costs soar. A private room and dining out will begin to drain your finances at a rate of $100 a day.
