!City Overview
This great sprawling metropolis was once a trading post back in 1821 when wagon trains converged on it on their way to Santa Fe, California and Oregon. If the romance of that time has disappeared along with the cowboys and saloon girls, it does still have a friendly almost village atmosphere, with parks and boulevards that are lined with trees. Kansas City is also famous for jazz, barbeques and its wealth of frontier history.
