City Overview
Brought to the world's attention by the slaying of JFK in the sixties, and then the most popular TV soap opera of all time, the long running Dallas, which typified the greed and ruthlessness of big business in this city in Texas, it is nevertheless an interesting place to visit. With the famous Dallas Cowboy football team and its energetic cheerleaders putting a more cheerful spin on its image, and beautiful parks, museums and great shopping, Dallas is a city that should be explored.
Daily Budget
For the hard pressed, cash strapped backpacker who really wants to see the country but doesn't have the moola for a ‘money's no object' visit, by staying in hostels or camping and doing his own catering, a minimum daily budget of around $50 should see him right. If, however, he has saved enough to spend about $100 a day, then a little comfort can be bought at a motel and some decent chow at a restaurant.
