Houston City Overview

Although suffocatingly polluted Houston seems to thrive on the fumes of its city and its heart beats with the same wild energy that comes from tripping on some illegal substance. It is not surprising to learn that Howard Hughes came from Houston, his eccentricity, power, and seedy lifestyle somehow typifies this huge, urban sprawl. Big, ugly, and hyped-up, Houston has never won any beauty awards, but it does have beautiful parks, excellent museums, and a happening nightlife.

Daily Budget
If you don't mind camping or crashing at a hostel, and if you can eat your own cooking, then you could just squeak by on US$50 a day, but if going without to this degree is not your style, then budget on spending a minimum of US$100 a day to see you right with a comfortable bed and some decent food at restaurants, and have enough left over to take in a few sights.
