A Quick Stop by Recife Guide
The idea of an prison building beingturned into a cultural center selling arts & crafts is interetsing, but the result is dissapointing. A few shops are good and it is worth a quick visit. But there are too many shops selling the same thing, stuff that is also sold at almost every other tourist destination. It is included as a quick stop on my walking tour of the city (www.recifeguide.wordpress.com), but it is definately not worth making a special effort to go only here.

(across the street from Recife Metro Station) Once huge, colonial style prison. Now home to many craft and souvenir shops, traditional music and dance shows.
